Separate the Thornbury main roof from the extension
Ask for the main slopes and any later addition to be inspected and priced separately. The extension may have a different pitch, covering and drainage detail, so simply carrying a new material across the junction can miss the source of a leak. A Thornbury roof replacement quote should identify each plane, its covering, underlay, ventilation and the treatment of their meeting point. If only one section is failing, you can compare a smaller project with a coordinated reroof without guessing what either price includes.
Compare a Thornbury roof repair with renewal
Request photographs of the failed tile, ridge, flashing or flat-roof edge and the materials immediately around it. A sound surrounding roof may justify a focused repair; widespread brittle covering or several past failures may justify replacement. South Gloucestershire Council’s Thornbury profile describes an older High Street and substantial later expansion, so the appearance and construction of your own roof matter more than a town-wide assumption. Ask how a repaired patch will meet existing material and whether scaffold and temporary weather protection are included. See the roof replacement and installation guide for a useful scope comparison.
Choose a Thornbury roofer on the finished details
Compare ridge, eaves, chimney flashings, roof-window surrounds, waste removal and workmanship support rather than only the price of the visible covering. If water stains follow an overflowing edge, review Thornbury gutter and downpipe replacement as a separate job. A Thornbury roofing repair price should name the faulty junction; a fitted Thornbury reroof price should name every included slope and the process for hidden timber work. Enter your postcode and describe which part of the home you want assessed.
